Alpbach has a population of 2,600 and occupies a beautiful location on a sunny plateau at some 1,000m above sea level. Thanks to its homogenous architectural style and lovely floral decorations Alpach was voted "Austria´s most beautiful village" in 1983. On the occasion of the Entente Florale competition Alpbach won the title "Europe´s most beautiful flower village" for its outstanding floral achievements.
Alpbach has always preserved harmony, security, beauty and its own cultural identity. Since 1953 new houses have only been built in the typical style of the Alpbachtal valley.

Alpbach occupies a beautiful location on a sunny plateau. If you think of Oscars, you definitely think of Hollywood, however Alpbach has been awarded the "white" Oscar. Alpbach offers every amenity you will need for an unforgettable winter holiday, including 54km of groomed runs set against a cobalt blue sky, 20km of immaculate cross-country skiing trails in scenic surroundings, untracked powder slopes for ski mountaineers and cleared winter hiking trails. Since 1945 Alpbach has been the venue for the European Forum Alpbach. Speakers and participants from all parts of the world, from science, economics and politics, experienced experts and students, come together in Alpbach to discuss the current issues and to formulate interdisciplinary solutions.
